The last thing Jesus Christ said before he left this earth was: “Preach the Gospel, in the world, to every creature.”
What is the gospel? Gospel does not mean religion. It does not mean church or doctrine. The word “Gospel” means “Good News”
Jesus commanded: “Preach the good news to every creature.” What good news: The good news of what Jesus did for you, when he died upon the cross.
You may ask: “Is that good news? Yes, friend, it surely is when you understand it and believe it. What I am going to tell you about right now will bring peace to your soul even while I am talking, if you believe it.
The Bible says, “in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” (Gen 1:1). It also tells us that God created man and woman in His own likeness; He created them out of dust of the earth. Then he breathed into them and they became living souls, like God.
God told them if they sinned and disobeyed His word, they should die. He made a law: “The soul that sinneth, it shall die, and the wages of sin is death; (Eze.18:4, Rom 6:23)
Satan knew that law, and since he is the great enemy of God, he was determined to destroy the wonderful man and beautiful woman whom God had created. He came to them and tempted them to disobey God. He lied to them and deceived them by saying they would not really die if they disobeyed God’s word.
Then the great fraged took place; Man and Woman both sinned and as a result, their hearts were filled with condemnation. They became afraid of God and they hid themselves.
God came and spoke to them and reminded them of His law, and they were driven away from His presence to live in sin and fear and finally to die. They were now the slaves of Satan because they had obeyed him instead of God. That is where sickness and evil began.
The Bible tells us that “as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: (Rom 5:12)
Now you see where sin, fear and disease came from and why they are in the world today.
But “God is love”,, not willing that anyone should perish, but that all should come to repenta-” nce” (2 Pet. 3:9). His word says, ‘I have no pleasure in the death of Him that dieth” (Eze. 18:32). No, of course not!
His great love drove Him to find a way so he could live and not die. But how He do it and be just. He had made a law; “The soul that sinnerh, shall die”, That law could not be changed since all had sinned, all must die. This could not bring God pleasure. How could man be saved?
Only one way -by substitution. In other words, when a man sinn-eth, he must pay by death – unless he could find a substitute to die for him and to bear his punish-ment for him.
So man killed animals, but the Bible says “it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins” (Heb. 10:14). A man had to die for aman, to clear of his punishment. But since all men had sinned, there was none who could die for another, because every man had suffered death for his own sins.
Ah, but there was One who had not sinned! He was perfect! He could be our substitute!
Who was He? Jesus Christ, God’s only son!
That is why the Bible says: “God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten son, that whos-oever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).
So Jesus came. God gave his son. Why? To suffer our penaltyvof death for us. He came and willin-gly went to the cross in our place, He died that we might live. He suffered death that we might have eternal life.
The Bible says, he bore our sins on the cross that we might live.
When He was crucified, He bore our sins — yours and mine. Now that he took them and bore our punishment, we don’t have to be punished again. We are free! We are saved! All you have to do is to believe it!
Jeaus said: ‘He that believeth on the son has evetlasting life. He is not condemned already because he hath believed on the name of the only begotten son of God.
God says: Greater love hath no man that this, that a man lay down his life for his friends; (John 15:14).
Jesus said: “I say unto yoi, He that hereth my word and believeson Him that sent me hath everlasting life and shall not come into condemnation; but is passes from death unto life” (John 5:24).
That is the “Gospel” – the “Good News” Jesus dies for YOU” he bore our sins! He took YOUR punishment ! That proves how much he loves YOU!
Think of it; God-so great, gave his only son to be punished in your place! Were you worth it? No! But he loves you!
Now will you believe on him and serve him. Cry out to him and say: “Oh; Lord, thank youvfor your love. I believe yoi died for me. Thank you for saving me.”
