Foods that treat stomach ulcers

Stomach ulcers are painful sores which are found in the stomach lining. They are also called gastric ulcers. The stomach ulcers are a type of peptic ulcer disease whereby they affect the stomach and small intestines.

The major causes of ulcers are long-term use of anti-flammatory drugs like aspirin, ibuprofen, or naproxen and infection with bacteria.

Leafy greens

There are different medications usef to treat stomach ulcers but according to Health Line here are foods that can treat it. They include; Cauliflower, Cabbage, Broccoli, leafy greens such as Kale and stomach pribiotic-rich foods such as Yoghurt, Olive oil and other plant-based oils, honey and garlic.

If your ulcers are caused by Helicobater fylori infection, foods rich in antioxidants help protect and activate your immune system. They also fight infection.

Stomach cancer

In addition to that, they protect aganaist stomach cancer. Examples of antioxidants include; Strawberries, Cherries, Blueberries, just to mention a few.

Probiotic foods include; Yoghurt, Sauerkaut, Kimchi. These foods are known to prevent re-infection.

Honey is more than a sweet liquid depending on the plant its derived from. It is a powerful antibacterial and has been shown to inhibit Helicobacter Pylori growth.

Any stomach ulcers caused by Helicobacter Pylori are treatable. But once it is not treated, leads to serious problem, like internal bleeding and stomach cancer.
